Biography:

Having played guitar since he was a child, Gerald Sheppard is now a concert playing fingerstyle guitarist who offers a wide palette of acoustic guitar music. Gerald says he just plays ”pretty music” but if you have watched him play, you know it’s more than that. People love to watch him play as well as listen, and his playing isn’t just pretty – it’s expressive and downright exciting to watch and hear. His solo style includes many of his own compositions, along with popular covers, traditional American, Celtic, and hymns. At times the music is so expressive and beautiful that it brings a tear to the eye, and at times it’s so exciting that you can’t look away. In 2007 Gerald released his CD ”In The Morning.” Engineered and recorded by Grammy Award winning guitarist Al Petteway, the CD offers a broad mix of music which quickly showcases Gerald’s talent. Want to know more? Just go to YouTube and search on “Gerald Sheppard” to see him play his music.

If that isn’t enough, Gerald is an internationally known and critically acclaimed custom guitar maker. His guitars have been used by professional artists and featured on the cover of the Grammy winning Pink Guitar CD. He has been a featured luthier at the renowned Swannanoa Gathering for eight years. His guitars recently won a 5-star rating in a critical review by “Acoustic” magazine (United Kingdom). You can see and hear his instruments at www.SheppardGuitars.com.

Gerald currently lives in Kingsport, Tennessee with his wife Melanie and son Matthew.
